Member involvement is always appreciated and we have a myriad of ways to engage a variety of interests and time availabilities. We have only one standing committee, but many committees that have varying levels of commitment and time frames.
Free Enterprise Committee (Standing Committee):
(Meets every other Wednesday)
This working committee is responsible for evaluating current policies in local government, gathering input and feedback from impacted businesses, communicating the needs, interests, and hopes of our members to local government, and helps design and guide better policy relating to small businesses.
Adhoc Committees
Election Committee:
(Meets on local election cycle)
Reviews candidates running for local political positions and recommends to the GSBA Board of Directors and Free Enterprise Committee those candidates that will aid the small business environment most for endorsement.
Everyone’s Green Group (EGG):
(Meets the 3rd Monday of every month)
Create opportunities for small businesses to be the leaders in the community by economically integrating progressive and innovative environmentally friendly practices.
Builders Team:
(Meets the 1st Thursday of every month)
Businesses from the building industry work together to provide end to end service to consumers in a cost effective, quality and time efficient manner. Also this group acts as a conduit to the Free Enterprise Committee to inform them of current or impending policy that affects their industry.
Events:
Sense of Health Event: Plan and coordinate an annual event focused on businesses in the industry of a lifestyle of wellness in mind and body.
Signature Event: Plan and coordinate a yearly community celebration.
