Thank you for letting me know about the Gilbert Small Business Alliance. The focus of my Senate Campaign is the economy. At a time when 20% of Arizonans are unemployed, underemployed or have given up on finding work; when 45% of Arizona homeowners are underwater on their mortgages; and when neither the Republicans or the Democrats seem to have clue about how to get the economy growing again; I’m advocating a two step economic growth program.

The first step is a major reform of our tax structure. Under my reform every taxpayer would get a $20,000 deduction, all other deductions would be eliminated. All income, whether from payroll, capital gains or inheritance would be taxed at the same 28% rate. My flat tax plan has a number of benefits including simplicity, deficit reduction and the removal of a yearly trillion dollar “honeypot” enjoyed by lobbyists and special interests.

The plan would especially benefit Gilbert small businesses, and small businesses nationwide, who employ over 60% of all Americans. Eliminating the payroll tax will slash the payroll costs of your members up to 15.3%. Reducing the cost of jobs will increase the number of jobs, while boosting consumption and spending. (All corporations would be treated like LLC’s, able to pass profits to owners pretax.)

The second part of my economic growth plan involves boosting national productivity like we did in the 60s, America’s fastest growing postwar decade, by building a new Interstate Highway System. This new Highway System will use clean, green technology and eliminate the $800 billion we now spend on foreign oil.

Its time to tell both major political parties that we’re tired of the constant finger pointing and political posturing. Our dependence on debt and oil is simply not sustainable. Its time to return to an era of growth and prosperity.
